New survey shows finding good things to eat is a parental challenge
As if being a parent isn’t challenging enough, a new survey from Talker Research reveals that parents spend about 432 hours during a school year on meal planning and preparation. The survey of 2,000 parents with school-aged kids showed that planning, shopping, cooking and packing lunches takes up an average of 12 hours per week. Most respondents said it’s difficult to find foods that everyone in the family enjoys eating.
Identifying snacks that kids will actually eat is a frustration point for many parents. Survey respondents estimated their kids eat about two-thirds of the food in their lunches on a typical school day, while the rest goes to waste.
